Photojournalism

Photojournalism is a school of photography that I respect the most namely due to its firm commitment of presenting the truth solely as it were, without bias or agenda. Living in Washington, D.C., one truly is exposed to so many politically and culturally relevant events that span both a national and international level. From protests to rallies to simple demonstrations, the nation’s capital is no stranger to people wishing to express their unwavering support or committed dissent over a respective issue, stance, or movement. As a photographer based in this city, I have leaned into this curious interest of capturing such public displays of the human condition; a visceral gradient of solidarity, pride, defiance, fear, and uncertainty. From this experience of documenting these events over the years, I hope to enhance my ability to share raw, impactful narratives that serve to propel conversations, bridge connection, and dissolve long-held misunderstandings between factions and communities.
