About

With a career in communications, programming, and creative strategy spanning over 15 years, I deeply enjoy facilitating meaningful connection through the use of visual and written narratives, interactive engagements, and compelling storytelling mechanics. Since the beginning of my career, I have always been drawn to the art of using clever design and messaging to convey a profound sense of emotion and initiative in someone, particularly when it comes to advocacy and influencing behavior. Having also spent years studying film and photography, I discovered the true potency of these visual media and became fascinated with their potential. Over the past few years, I decided to truly lean into photography, transforming it from a personal hobby to a central passion and pursuit in alignment with my core beliefs. I may not know which direction our world is heading; however, I now find myself determined to provide my own visual testimony along its chosen path.

Having a penchant for photography since my youth, I love exploring the boundaries of this medium and its ability to connect viewers with the subject matter, to illicit an emotional reaction from them, and to forever alter their viewing perspective. Whether it’s street photography, natural landscapes, architecture, or foreign locales, I am always in pursuit of capturing space and time and our personal relationships with both. To me, photography isn’t just an invitation to bear witness to an intimate moment long past, but rather a provocation into our own narratives and the roles we too must participate in within our lifetimes. As a freelance photographer based in Washington, D.C., I am often covering events happening around the city that may include embassy soirées, corporate convenings, nonprofit fundraisers, or even the Time Magazine after-party following the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Beyond my freelance work, I am actively merging my professional and creative backgrounds with my lifelong passion for the environment. Currently, I am consulting with climate-focused organizations, such as Planet Reimagined (founded by platinum recording artist Adam Met of AJR), to help bolster their communications strategies and outreach efforts. I am also focused on supporting the growth of D.C.’s climate ecosystem as an organizer of Climate DC, the D.C. chapter of Clean Creatives, and as co-chair of marketing/PR for DC Climate Week. Ultimately, my goal is to use my creative pursuits to drive public advocacy and awareness surrounding the current social and environmental crises threatening communities around the world due to climate change and habitat loss. My personal dream would be to utilize my own photography as a way to champion the solutions combatting climate change and to promote the preservation of the fragile ecosystems that played a large role in much of my own life.

As an avid traveler and climate advocate, I dedicate much of my time documenting my love for the natural world and diverse human cultures through photography. It is my hope that my work inspires others to be better stewards of our planet, to appreciate the many diverse communities one may encounter, and to practice empathy among all things that share this world with us.
